La Caleta is the most iconic beach in Cádiz: a small cove of golden sand located between the castles of San Sebastián and Santa Catalina, right in the heart of the historic center. Despite its small size, it is one of the urban beaches with the most personality in Andalusia and one of the most recognizable images of the city.

Its local character makes the difference: neighbors coming down for a swim, children playing among the boats, and a century-old spa jutting out over the water. The sunsets at La Caleta, with the sun setting between the two castles, are one of the most beautiful spectacles on the Cádiz coastline.

Combine the visit with a walk through the castles and the La Viña neighborhood. For the sunset, arrive early: in summer it fills up quickly.

La Caleta does not compete with the large beaches of the Costa de la Luz: it is something different, a neighborhood beach where Cádiz gazes out at its own sea.

LIVVO Tip: Great for a quick swim after exploring the city.
