Tenerife, the island of thousand experiences, is the largest one on the Canarian archipelago. Its natural environment is so pure, that it has been declared Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO. For example, the Macizo de Anaga was listed as Reserve of the Biosphere due to its natural and ethnographic richness, and has the largest number of endemisms of Europe. The historic center of San Cristóbal de La Laguna with its architectonic and colonial style is part of this Heritage, too.
Nevertheless, Tenerife hides a treasure, one of the greatest manifestations of volcanism history and the emblem of the island: Teide. The Teide National Park is the most visited in Spain and Europe, and one of the most visited worldwide. Of singular beauty, the Teide is the highest elevation of Spain and third largest volcano in the world. No wonder it is World Heritage Site since 2007.
Tenerife also has charming beaches. El Médano is one the most beautiful shores. Its name “médano” means “dune” and does justice to the spectacle you will find in the coastal town in the South of the island: a fine sand and chestnut colored beach with the sublime Montaña Roja (Red Mountain) as a backdrop.
